Dr. Alexa Hecht grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba and later received her Doctorate of Optometry with Distinction from the University of Waterloo. She’s known for a calm, thorough approach and takes the time to listen, explain, and makes sure patients feel comfortable and cared for, whether it’s their first eye exam or they’re coming in with a specific concern.

Dr. Hecht has a special interest in dry eye disease and offers in-depth assessments with tailored treatment options. She also has extensive experience in pediatric eye care and myopia control, helping children see their best today while supporting their long-term eye health.

Dr. Hecht is a proud member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists. Outside the clinic, she shares practical, evidence-based eye health education on her professional social media channels and co-hosts an optometry podcast, Future Focus, focused on supporting and inspiring optometry students and new graduates. She has also had opportunities to lecture and is passionate about giving back to the profession.
